2012 Messages

Hello and welcome to MIDDLESBROUGH GANG SHOW 2012 in what is of course the Queens Diamond Jubilee year. It really doesn’t seem that two years have passed since our last offering, but as we all know, a lot can change in a very short time.

We have lost to a higher calling three members of our number in Vernon Fisher, Ron Foster and Fred Gettings all of whom have been heavily involved in the Gang Show over a number of years. In fact Fred was in the very first show in this theatre. Their input, humour and physical presence will be greatly missed.

Retirement has also meant that our rehearsals had a new slant as Margaret Leonard our show pianist decided to take a back seat this year; she has been a source of inspiration to the new show pianist so our grateful thanks go to her.

Also we have an increase in the number within our cast this year, which coupled with a new approach to its production sets the scene for what I am confident is a show that you will thoroughly enjoy and which will send you on your way home singing and tapping your feet. But without more a do let us into the Gang Show archives delve and raise the curtain on the Gang Show 2012.

Geoff Cox – Show Chairman

Welcome to the Middlesbrough District Scouts’ Gang Show 2012. It doesn’t seem like 2 years have passed since Gang Show 2012, yet here we are already. The show has changed a lot over the years and this year is my 13th show in a row as a cast member. Lets hope it is a lucky 13.

I have been a member of Scouting since I was in the ‘Cubs’ and Scouting has been so important to me and will continue to be for many years to come. If anyone watching the show wants to join us either as a child or adult helper please come and get involved. The cast, backroom staff, wardrobe and production teams along with the hard working Choreographers (their ability to turn some of us into dancers is amazing), have all worked so hard, as have the Executive and Business teams to prepare this show for you the audience. The Producers, Musical Director and his Orchestra have very high standards so the Cast have to work hard all week to meet these standards. I’m sure they’ll do us proud. There would be little point in putting on a show if we didn’t have an audience to present the show to, so I would like to thank you all for coming to our
